SIMPLE, YET EFFECTIVE
I have been using this curriculum for about 6 months now. I love the open and go, easy to prep material. It has given daily structure and direction for my classroom. The bonus activities help me reach all children in my care, and I love the teaching tips. The phonoligical awareness and oral lessons have helped tremendously. I love the scope and sequence approach so we don't get overwhelmed and we regularly get to learn new material while practicing learned material so my students get a confidence boost. The approach is simple yet effective.

When I found out my fourth baby was due two weeks after the preschool year started, I panicked.
Having an in-home preschool, I didn't have the option of finding a substitute while I took six weeks off for maternity leave.
Nope. My newborn was going to have to come to class with me each day, snuggled down in a baby wrap.
I knew my time for lesson planning would vanish after the baby was born -- and I wasn't about to try fitting it in between feedings and diaper changes, carpool and PTA events.
I needed a preschool curriculum I could just open up and teach everyday. Something that was no-prep. Something that was still varied and would entice interest in my preschoolers. Something that wasn't just worksheets, and something that was systematic and explicit in skills taught.
ENTER: my Daily Lessons in Preschool Literacy Curriculum.
I designed and wrote this preschool literacy curriculum during my pregnancy, so I could focus on and enjoy teaching (and not lesson planning) that fall.
I didn't wonder what I was going to teach after a sleepless night with a fussy baby because I had my daily lesson plans already written out.
I might have shown up to class with no make-up on, spit-up on my shirt and a messy mom bun, but my preschoolers were still going to have fun learning and I didn't have to do any extra prep!
I went into that year of teaching, and every year since then, with full confidence knowing that my preschoolers were going to get the very best foundation in literacy possible. I had a thorough and comprehensive curriculum follow.
Since its original edition, this curriculum has been vetted by thousands of veteran preschool teachers and experienced homeschooling parents. It is simple and easy to follow, and best of all...effective!

Finally, a preschool literacy curriculum that is open and go, done for you, and step-by-step!
I've been teaching preschool for 10 years and I have yet to find a literacy curriculum better than this one! The activities provide variety but are still age appropriate and fun. I love that every lesson includes hands-on, kinesthetic-based activities. It keeps my preschooler's attention without being overwhelming for me as a teacher.
I use the phonological awareness and phonics lessons during morning circle time, and save the oral language lessons for our closing circle time. I put out the printable alphabet centers during free choice centers for additional practice. I end the year knowing I gave my preschoolers the best literacy instruction possible!
As a former pre-k teacher turned stay-at-home mom to 4 littles, I stay plenty busy. This curriculum is thorough and engaging, and most of all, fun for my kiddos. I wanted something that had all the important pre-reading skills, not just letter names and sounds. This curriculum has that! My kids love our daily learning time, and I love not having to spend all my free time lesson planning or searching Pinterest for activities. I just open my curriculum binder and teach!

You're in the right place if you:
... don't have time for loads of prep work
... want short and simple lessons that connect back to the big picture
... need varied and engaging activities for different age groups
... want to just open and start teaching
The Daily Lessons in Preschool Literacy Curriculum is right for you if you want:
These alphabet centers are designed to support the daily lessons, making teaching preschool literacy even easier.
Just prep once and use them again and again.
Is the curriculum thematic?
No. This curriculum is not based in themes, which gives teachers and parents the flexibility to start and stop lessons at any point in the year.
Are these lesson plans just for preschoolers?
These lesson plans have been carefully designed for children ages 3-6. Early learners will benefit from exposure to the early literacy skills, and older children in pre-k or transitional kindergarten classes will also benefit. Kindergarten teachers even use this curriculum for their remedial students.
Can I teach the lessons out of order?
Each component in this preschool literacy curriculum is sequential and systematic. They follow a specific progression of skills to guarantee success in early literacy development.
Are pre-literacy and alphabet centers included?
You bet they are! Research has proven time and again that the most successful readers are created by using a phonics driven approach. The included literacy centers are specifically designed to support the teacher instruction from the daily lesson plans.

I USE THIS EVERY DAY!
The lessons are super easy to follow and provide a variety of engaging activities. I live by the phonics lesson plans! My three-year-old class adore the Alphabet Friends and songs! So fun! I couldn't ask for a better curriculum! And the best part is that I'm no longer spending hours piecing together activities to target teaching objectives. Now I have a solid curriculum to follow.
